At Work Benefits of Essential Oils

You may be surprised at the at work benefits of essential oils. If you're new to essential oils or you're ready to switch from recreational essential oils to therapeutic grade essential oils, you'll be delighted at the number of ways you can benefit from using essential oils in your office. Here are seven examples to consider right away.

1. Mental Accuracy
Would fewer errors be at work benefit for you? Studies have shown that inhaling the essential oil of peppermint can increase mental accuracy by as much as 28 percent. I usually inhale directly from the bottle, but diffusing is also effective. Diffusing lemon essential oil can result in as much as 54 percent fewer errors, according to recent research. With jasmine, the error reducing can be as much as 33 percent. You can even create your own blends of essential oils to promote greater brain power and clarity.

I keep Clarity, Rosemary, Brain Power, and Lemon at my desk for their at work benefits. However, right now, my favorite brain boosting oil is cedarwood.

2. Headache Relief
Headaches can be a nuisance, but when they happen at work, productivity can suffer. Researchers have found that certain essential oils can block headache discomfort. Many people either inhale peppermint essential oil or put a special pain-relieving blend on their temples.

3. Weight Loss While Sitting at Your Desk
Science has shown that peppermint essential oil can help curb appetite. What I do is put one or two drops of therapeutic grade peppermint essential oil in the glass of water that I keep at my desk, and then I drink that during the day. It's important to use glass and not Styrofoam, because therapeutic grade essential oils can eat through the Styrofoam and you could end up with a wet desk!

4. Better Relationships
Whether it is your mood, your client's mood, or your co-workers' moods, essential oils can help create more harmony in the office. Depending on the oil, I may inhale it, diffuse it, or put a couple of drops on a tissue or cotton ball. One of my favorite oils for this purpose is balsam fir.

5. Stress Relief
Sometimes you get stressed. Occasionally, it's your client or co-worker who is stressed. There are times when a little peace and calming in the workplace would be welcome. Again balsam fir is one of my favorites. I also like the essential oils of frankincense, geranium, jasmine, and lavender for this purpose.

6. Help Purify the Air
More and more people are diffusing therapeutic grade essential oils as an air purification system. Choices include lemon, lemongrass, rosemary, melaleuca alternifolia, and even purification blends. When you use therapeutic grade essential oils, you can diffuse your purification oils or for shorter times and less frequently than when using essential oils of lesser quality.

7. Creativity
If your job or your company benefits from your creative ideas, you may be interested in what therapeutic grade essential oils can do. For this purpose, I like to inhale directly from the bottle, but diffusing is good too. Some people prefer single oils such as balsam or Douglas fir, frankincense, or rose oil. Other people believe that they can better awaken their creativity, inspiration and highest potential by using a blend of several oils.

Bonus Tip
Would you be interested in a single oil that has been shown to (a) boost the immune system, (b) increase energy, (c) help with relaxation, and (d) aid in brain function? Studies have shown that therapeutic grade lemon essential oil can do all this and more.

Most of the essential oils mentioned in this at work benefits article are individual oils, so can you imagine what happens when several of these oils are combined into a special blend? For examples of this, I invite you to visit www.EssentialOilsProducts.com. and explore. Also at this site, you can find most of the oils that I've mentioned in this article. A number of oils in this article are available in kits.

For the biggest at work benefits from using essential oils in your office, I am assuming that you are using therapeutic grade essential oils and not recreational oils. For the selection of oils for your office and how to use them safely, I recommend consulting the Essential Oils Desk Reference.
