Eucalyptus Oil Uses

If you’ve heard about the benefits of eucalyptus oil and you’re thinking about purchasing some, I’d like you to know part of what I didn’t know when I bought my first bottle!

I bought a bottle that said just “Eucalyptus” on the front label. That was before I knew that

  • There are over 700 varieties of eucalyptus.
  • Each variety has different chemical properties.
  • If you want top quality, the label should also include the Latin botanical name.

Since that time, I tend to rely on five types of eucalyptus, as you can see in the chart below.

The information in this chart is taken from the Essential Oils Desk Reference.

Each of these five oils are effective in their own way, so what happens when three of these eucalyptus oils are combined with

  • Myrtle
  • Pine
  • Spruce
  • Marjoram
  • Lavender
  • Cypress
  • Peppermint

Eucalyptus Oil This combination is one of my favorites for colds, coughs, sore throats, bronchitis, sinusitis, and respiratory conditions in general. The EDR associates this R.C. blend with
  • Decongesting sinus passages
  • Combating lung infections
  • Relieving allergy symptoms

One of my favorite essential oil recipes is a special cough syrup that I use for coughs, colds, and throat issues.

  • An almost-full teaspoon of blue agave
  • 1-2 drops of lemon essential oil
  • 1-2 drops of Eucalyptus radiata or R.C.
Over-the-counter cough syrups upset my stomach, but not this recipe!

Contac me if you'd like to learn more about my favorite Eucalyptus Oil blend.
