Thieves Essential Oil Blend

The power of Thieves essential oil blend is becoming known to more and more people each day. When they hear about, smell its aroma, or see someone using it, they’re curious! Why such a name? And what does it do?

How did the thieves of old use this formula to protect themselves? They would:

• Rub the oils on their bodies.
• Breathe them through their masks
• Take them internally
• Douse themselves with them
• Wash their hands with vinegar containing the protective oils.

By the time of the Plague of 1720, physicians who had learned the secret of certain protective oils could tend to the sick without fear of getting the plague themselves. When they were attending the sick, they covered their bodies with boots, long cloaks, and leather gloves. They covered their heads with hoods that had eye holes covered with crystal lenses. The beaks of these hoods contained the essential oils of clove, cinnamon, rosemary and other protective aromatics.

How can this work for us today?

1. The thieves breathed in oils through their mask. We can inhale these protective oils by holding the oil bottle under our nose or by diffusing it in a diffuser.

2. The thieves rubbed the oils on their body. Today, many people rub the Thieves essential oil on the soles of their feet, because the oil reaches every cell in the body very quickly this way.

3. The thieves washed their hands. Today, the Thieves formula is available in three different hand cleaners.

   • Thieves Foaming Hand Soap
   • Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier (many people prefer this to Purell)
   • Thieves Bar Soap

4. The thieves also took the protective oils internally. Today, we have three primary options.

Put them in capsules (some sources recommend diluting with a high quality vegetable oil)

• Thieves Lozenges (hard and soft). The benefit here is that the oils can go directly into the bloodstream.
• Thieves Dental Products. There are three different Thieves Dentarome toothpastes, Thieves mouthwash, and Thieves dental floss. Once again, compare the ingredients on the Thieves dental products with those in the commercial products, most of which have a warning message to the effect that if you accidentally swallow them, you should call the poison control center. You will not find this warning on any of the Thieves toothpastes.

5. The thieves of old had to disinfect their homes also. Today, we can have extra protection by cleaning our house with one or more of these Thieves products.
